Business Manager, South America, 21-22-ABQ04

INTERA Incorporated has an opportunity for an accomplished senior-level executive to lead talented technical teams and their administrative support staff. You and your team will solve complex water resources and water quality problems for a variety of mining clients in South America. Alongside hydrogeologists, hydrologists, geochemists, and engineers, you'll be bringing new projects into operation, existing operations into compliance, and former operations into closure. We'd like you to manage projects independently with collaboration from other senior staff while developing and implementing strategies for securing new business. Lastly, you'll need to be a strong, clear communicator in both Spanish and English to work with our colleagues, clients, and regulators.

This position will be based in Medellin, Colombia, and you will report to the President of Mining and Environmental who is based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. 


Our Business Manager will:

  • Read, write, and converse in technical Spanish and English, specifically for mining and hydrogeology
  • Develop and promote a culture of safety in line with INTERA’s Corporate Health and Safety Plan
  • Generate new business leads
  • Lead the development of work orders and proposals
  • Manage the day-to-day business operations for any South American operations
  • Inspire and lead teams of scientists and engineers to solve complex, technical problems
  • Draw from previous consulting experience to help clients through each stage of the project life cycle

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience managing consulting projects for international clients
  • Previous professional experience in Latin American countries
  • Proven proficiency in conversational and technical Spanish
  • Bachelor's in geosciences or engineering required
    • Master’s degree preferable in business or water resources related field with 10 years+ of applied, relevant experience
