Senior Water Resources Engineer, Bloomington, IN 22-16-IN01

INTERA is looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Water Resources Engineer, with experience in water utility planning, engineering, operations, and regulatory matters. In this position, you will manage and support a wide variety of multi-disciplinary projects for INTERA’s clients throughout the country. Your work will be a valuable contribution to INTERA’s Utility Market Strategy, including management and support of new business development and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as a project manager or technical lead with multi-disciplinary teams of hydrogeologists, engineers, scientists, GIS analysts, technical editors, and/or others on projects throughout the country to meet project objectives on schedule and within budget
  • Guide clients to appropriate solutions, and develop a complete and accurate scope and budget for proposed work
  • Complete preliminary/conceptual engineering design, cost estimating, and economic analysis for water supply infrastructure associated with planning studies and alternative analysis
  • Manage projects involving design, permitting, bidding, and construction oversight of groundwater wells
  • Present findings to clients, colleagues, and other interested parties
  • Review reports and research done by other scientists and engineers
  • Mentor junior staff

 

Required Qualifications

  • A broad background in water utility planning, water supply development, water quality, water, and wastewater treatment, utility infrastructure, operations, permitting, and regulation.
  • Master’s degree in water resources engineering, hydrogeology, or a related field
  • PE license and NCEES Record
  • At least 15 years of experience, including experience working with public and private water agencies
  • Clear, well-rounded communication skills and the ability to maintain strong interpersonal relationships
  • Able to collaborate across diverse, multidisciplinary teams
  • Effective project management and client management skills
  • Clear, concise technical and non-technical writing
  • Adept planning, time management, and organization skills
  • Willingness to travel
