Coastal / Hydraulic Engineer, Gainesville, FL 23-02-GNV01

About the Position

This position can be located in either our Gainesville, Florida, office or our Jacksonville, Florida, office.
Remote opportunities may be available for higher level candidates, or when applicable. 

 

Required Education and Skills

  • Bachelor’s in Civil (hydraulic) Engineering or Master’s degree in Coastal/Ocean Engineering
  • Previous experience with hydraulic and/or wave modeling
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team to complete technical work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to travel occasionally to project sites or meetings
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

 

Desired Education and Skills

  • A Master’s or PhD degree in Civil (hydraulic) Engineering or Coastal/Ocean engineering
  • Florida Professional Engineer registration or the ability to acquire within 24 months
  • Previous experience with bridge hydraulics-related projects
  • Previous knowledge and use of SMS ADCIRC, SWAN, SRH2D, and/or HEC-RAS
  • Experience with beach nourishment projects including familiarity with USACE models
  • Experience analyzing/manipulating data with a scripting language, such as Python or MATLAB
  • Prior experience with GIS
  • Excellent task management skills
