Senior FP&A Analyst, Austin, TX 23-25-AUS09

INTERA Incorporated is looking for a Senior FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) Analyst to join our team in Austin, Texas. Key Responsibilities:

 

Financial Planning & Forecasting:

  • Analyze financial data and market trends to identify opportunities and risks
  • Develop commercial labor rates, federal labor rates, and project-specific labor rates
  • Build financial models to support decision-making related to investments, capital allocation, and business initiatives
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), providing insights and recommendations for improvement
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, working collaboratively with key stakeholders and management
  • Analyze overhead and develop overhead rate bases
  • Conduct budget variance analysis

 

Project Support:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the financial feasibility of new projects, proposals, and initiatives
  • Evaluate staff education and experience levels to ensure proper labor category classification
  • Review company and project reporting practices to assess compatibility with corporate objectives
  • Assist in training of stakeholders for use and reporting in Ajera/ERP

 

Accounting Support and Compliance

  • Provide data, reports, and dashboards for various departments and stakeholders
  • Work with accounting staff for the application of various state taxes
  • Provide backup support for project setups in all AJERA
  • Provide data for the annual insurance applications
  • Assist with quarterly and/or annual regulatory report filings
  • Provide support for corporate audits
  • Process government and industry surveys and other governmental reports
  • Register and maintain firm registrations and business licenses

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling and accounting
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software tools
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
  • Experience in project accounting and reporting

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the AEC (architect/engineer/consulting) industry is strongly preferred
  • Experience with Deltek Ajera or a similar ERP platform is strongly preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting and basic SQL programming is preferred
  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation principles is preferred
