INTERA is seeking a passionate and motivated Entry-Level Environmental Scientist to join our dynamic team in INTERA’s Richland, Washington, office. You will play a crucial role in supporting our environmental projects, and work closely with our senior scientists and project managers to analyze environmental data and contribute to impactful environmental studies. Your work will be a valuable asset in driving the innovative solutions needed at the Hanford Site, one of the largest environmental cleanup projects in the world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform environmental data analysis using R and Python
  • Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to create and manage spatial data
  • Support preparation of technical reports and presentations for clients.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure project goals are met

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Geography, Geology, or a related field
  • Proficiency in R-scripting and Python for data analysis
  • Experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to conduct fieldwork and travel as required

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous internship or project experience in environmental science or a related field
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance

 

Expected Salary Range: $72,000 - $96,000 annually
