Responsibilities

The primary responsibility for this position is to develop and maintain system-scale models for safety assessments of radioactive waste disposal (or waste storage) facilities under the direction of INTERA’s senior staff.  The system-scale model evaluates the release and transport of contaminants to the subsurface and calculates environmental impacts using a probabilistic approach with information from process-level models.

 

Required Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Hydrogeology, Geosystems, or a related field with an emphasis on flow and transport modeling
  • Knowledge of flow and contaminant transport modeling in the subsurface along with knowledge of conducting statistical analysis

 

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

  • Experience with GoldSim simulation software
  • Experience conducting uncertainty analysis.

 

Expected Salary Range: $80,000 - $130,000 depending on level of experience
